NYC Restaurants for Theatergoers
by John Kenrick

(Copyright 1998-2006)

I always knew that most theatre lovers were food lovers too, but I was surprised when so many people wrote in asking where they should eat when catching shows in New York. I've created this list of personal favorites, places that consistently provide quality food, genuine value, timely pre-theatre service, and the ultimate Manhattan rarity – decent rest rooms.

I've included Times Square as well as the Greenwich Village/Lower East Side area. Aside from having many fine theatres, the Village is only 15 minutes from the Broadway theatre district by cab or subway – making it a prime neighborhood for affordable pre-theatre dining.)

Please note: None of these establishments have paid for or requested listings here. These are recommendations based on years of personal patronage.
